Lamp project

After making a headboard for our bed and re-painting our room (off white walls with a chocolate brown accent wall), I decided my ugly brown burlap lamps needed a face-lift. So I covered them in fabric roses. Each lamp took over 120 roses, large and small. (That's 7 yards of fabric, by the way.) Now to convince The Man that the nightstand should be painted white....

**notice i don't have an alarm clock. every time i rolled over or woke up, i would look at the clock, just curious about what time it might be. so i took it away and i sleep much better now. fyi.

A weekend at the Beach

I can't seem to figure out how to get these in the order I want. Whatever....

We went to Galveston for the weekend. It was a great family vacation.

Eli was so excited to go to the beach. We had to make a count-down so he would stop asking me 6 times a day!

We all got pretty burnt the first day, even though we packed on the sunscreen.

our last morning on the beach...the tide was still in and there was lots of new seaweed.

eli informed chris that the beach misses him...i guess we'll have to go back. :)
Happy Father's Day! We went to the Galveston Ward (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) Sunday morning. I was surprised at how large of a ward it was.

Sunday afternoon we rode the ferry to a very pretty beach and had a wonderful day there. And guess where my camera was? On the table in the Hotel. Dang.

Swimming Lessons

I put the boys in swim lessons. It was ok. Tate really didn't like it - the water was to chilly for him at 10am. I let him skip class today - and probably will tomorrow.

Once I convinced Eli that he was a big boy and that he needed to obey his teacher, he started learning things - like the back float.

He is a pretty good swimmer, as long as he can touch. We aren't ready for the "deep end" yet.

And I've had a few peaceful afternoons for the past two weeks.

He is seriously sleeping. I have video of him snoring to prove it!

(Tate slept too, but lessons were at his nap time, so that is to be expected.)
